In Blackjack, before you are dealt any cards you have the option of making a $1 side bet that allows you to participate in additional payouts.
The game is played on a semi-circular table with 5 or 7 playing positions. During a game of Blackjack cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe. The aim is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a better hand, without exceeding 21, or by the Dealer's hand going bust. Picture cards (Jack, Queen, King) count as ten. It cannot be beaten, only matched. When your hand and the Dealer's hand tie, it is called a Push.
An Ace and eight will add up to 19 but if the player chooses to take another card that would cause the hand's value to exceed 21 the Ace will revert to a value of 1.
The bets can only be changed or added between games. The player may double after splitting. If the Dealer makes 21 with 3 or more cards, the Players Blackjack wins. For example, a King and a Ten have the same numerical value, but cannot be split because the cards are not the same denomination. If your card count goes over 21, you lose.
