Blackjack is played with 4 decks of cards – with the jokers removed – that are shuffled after the completion of every game.
If you go over 21 this is called going BUST and you automatically lose the hand. Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck – no jokers – to 6 or sometimes 8 decks. The Dealer will be dealt one card. An Ace adopts the value most beneficial for your hand. The card that remains face down is called the Hole card.
The Dealer is also dealt two cards but only one card is face up. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on the second hand. The HIT button tells the dealer to deal you another card. If your first two cards have the same point value, you may split them into two separate hands by placing a second bet equal to the original bet. If your card count goes over 21, you lose.
