This Blackjack is played exclusively with a single 52-card deck, as this offers you the best possible chances of winning. The aim is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a better hand, without exceeding 21, or by the Dealer's hand going Bust. Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck – no jokers – to 6 or sometimes 8 decks.
An Ace has a value of either 1 or 11. If you and the dealer have the same card total (17 and up) neither of you win and your bet is returned to you in a “push”. Your chips are stacked by denomination ($1, $5,
$25, $100, $500) at the bottom of the game window. The Dealer will announce Blackjack, pay you one and one-half times the bet, then remove those cards before acting on any other hands.
Insurance costs half your original bet. The player may double after splitting. If the Dealer makes 21 with 3 or more cards, the Players Blackjack wins. You play both hands as separate hands. You then proceed to draw cards.
