The game is played on a semi-circular table with 5 or 7 playing positions. The deck is re-shuffled after each hand. Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck – no jokers – to 6 or sometimes 8 decks. You decide what value is more beneficial to your hand. Aces count as one or eleven, whichever is to the Player's advantage. Only one additional card allowed on each Ace when splitting a pair of Aces. After 2 or 3 seconds a box will appear identifying the
table number and the minimum and maximum bet.
If both the Dealer and your hand have Blackjack, this is also considered a Push and you are paid out your original bet amount. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on the second hand. It does not cover any second hands on a split, or a double bet. You can HIT as many times as you wish until your hand goes bust or you decide to STAND. The Stand button, sometimes called the Stay button, ends your hand and moves the game onto the next phase be it the completion of the dealer's hand or of your second hand in the case of a Split.
