Blackjack is a game where the player competes against the dealer.
The aim is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a better hand, without exceeding 21, or by the Dealer's hand going Bust. The deck is re-shuffled after each hand. Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck – no jokers – to 6 or sometimes 8 decks. If you receive an Ace and a Ten value card as your first two cards, you have Blackjack. The Dealer will announce Blackjack, pay you one and one-half times the bet, then remove those cards before acting on any other hands.
If the dealer's hand total and the player's hand total are the same than the hand is a tie or PUSH and the player's bet is returned. If he has Blackjack, the hand will be a Push (Standoff) You neither win nor lose. If the player doubles and the dealer's first card is of value 11, and the dealer gets blackjack, the player loses both his bets. If your first two cards have the same point value, you may split them into two separate hands by placing a second bet equal to the original bet. If your card count goes over 21, you lose.
