Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on the second hand. If your initial two cards do not total 21 then you may request additional cards, called a Hit. If the player doubles and the dealer's first card is of value 11, and the dealer gets blackjack, the player loses both his bets.
