Face cards have a value of 10 and the Aces a value of one or eleven. 8 52-card decks are used.
The dealer must stand on a hard or soft 17 or higher and draw on a hard or soft 16 or lower. Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck – no jokers – to 6 or sometimes 8 decks. Picture cards (Jack, Queen, King) count as ten. There are two ways to determine the table bet limit for a specific table. When your hand and the Dealer's hand tie, it is called a Push. The card that remains face down is called the Hole card.
If both the Dealer and your hand have Blackjack, this is also considered a Push and you are paid out your original bet amount. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on the second hand. If you are dealt a Blackjack (an ace and a card of value ten) then the dealer will automatically lose unless his single card is an Ace or a card of value 10.
