Upon wagering, you and the dealer (the
computer) are dealt two cards to start. If the Dealer's hand exceeds 21, it is bust, and you automatically win. If you are dealt an Ace and a card with a value of 10, you have Blackjack. Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck – no jokers – to 6 or sometimes 8 decks. Each hand played is a separate wager against the dealer. The card that remains face down is called the Hole card.
If you are dealt an Ace and a 10 or face card this is called a BLACKJACK and your hand will STAND automatically. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on the second hand. The goal is for the player's hand to add up to 21 or come closer to 21 than the dealer's hand. The Modify Table Bet Limit window will appear on the screen. For example, a King and a Ten have the same numerical value, but cannot be split because the cards are not the same denomination.
If you have SPLIT a pair of aces and then draw a card with a value of ten then this is not a BLACKJACK.
