Blackjack is a game where the player competes against the dealer.
The aim is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a better hand, without exceeding 21, or by the Dealer's hand going Bust. Aces can be valued at either one or eleven;
if counting the Ace as eleven would put the hand over twenty-one, the Ace is
automatically counted as one instead. If the total value of your cards is closer to 21 than the dealer’s, you win as much as you had wagered. Individual tables may have a higher minimum bet and a lower maximum bet. It cannot be beaten, only matched. Each hand played is a separate wager against the dealer. The Dealer will announce Blackjack, pay you one and one-half times the bet, then remove those cards before acting on any other hands.
The Dealer is also dealt two cards but only one card is face up. The player may double after splitting. A second wager – equal to your original wager – is automatically placed on your second hand. For example, a King and a Ten have the same numerical value, but cannot be split because the cards are not the same denomination. If you are dealt a Blackjack then he will not be allowed to draw further cards as he already has the best possible hand.
