During a game of Blackjack cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe.
The dealer must stand on a hard or soft 17 or higher and draw on a hard or soft 16 or lower. Aces can have a value of either 1 or 11. If the value of the dealer's hand is higher than yours you lose. If you and the dealer have the same card total (17 and up) neither of you win and your bet is returned to you in a “push”. The Increase and Decrease buttons are used to adjust the size of your bet.
If both the Dealer and your hand have Blackjack, this is also considered a Push and you are paid out your original bet amount. The card that remains face down is called the 'hole card'. The Stand button, sometimes called the Stay button, ends your hand and moves the game onto the next phase be it the completion of the dealer's hand or of your second hand in the case of a Split.
