Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck to 6 such decks. Face cards (the Jack, Queen and King) and 10s all have a value of ten. All hands that are dealt an Ace and a 10 or a face card win, unless the dealer also has a BLACKJACK – a PUSH. The Dealer will announce Blackjack, pay you one and one-half times the bet, then remove those cards before acting on any other hands.
The object of Blackjack is to obtain a hand with the highest possible value without exceeding 21. The player may double after splitting. You can HIT as many times as you wish until your hand goes bust or you decide to STAND. The Stand button, sometimes called the Stay button, ends your hand and moves the game onto the next phase be it the completion of the dealer's hand or of your second hand in the case of a Split.
If you have SPLIT a pair of aces and then draw a card with a value of ten then this is not a BLACKJACK.
