The game is played on a semi-circular table with 5 or 7 playing positions. If you go over 21 this is called going BUST and you automatically lose the hand. Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck – no jokers – to 6 or sometimes 8 decks. There are two ways to determine the table bet limit for a specific table. If you are dealt a pair you may SPLIT your hand. This means that your pair is divided into two separate hands with two separate wagers. If you are dealt a Blackjack (an ace and a card of value ten) then the dealer will automatically lose unless his single card is an Ace or a card of value 10. If your card count goes over 21, you lose.
