In Blackjack, aces count as either 1 or 11, face cards as 10, and number cards as their face value. Cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe. Blackjack is when your hand contains an Ace and a card with a value of ten. No re-splitting of cards allowed. All hands that are dealt an Ace and a 10 or a face card win, unless the dealer also has a BLACKJACK – a PUSH. All hands that purchased INSURANCE win if the dealer has a BLACKJACK – you will break even; if the dealer doesn't have a BLACKJACK the INSURANCE bet loses.
The object of Blackjack is to obtain a hand with the highest possible value without exceeding 21. If you split a pair of Aces and then draw a card with a denomination of 10, this is not Blackjack, although it has a value of 21. If the player doubles and the dealer's first card is of value 11, and the dealer gets blackjack, the player loses both his bets. The Stand button, sometimes called the Stay button, ends your hand and moves the game onto the next phase be it the completion of the dealer's hand or of your second hand in the case of a Split.
The SPLIT button is only available if the first two cards dealt are a pair.
