Blackjack is a game where the player competes against the dealer.
After each game has been played, the used cards
are shuffled back into the deck. During a game of Blackjack cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe. Aces can be valued at either one or eleven;
if counting the Ace as eleven would put the hand over twenty-one, the Ace is
automatically counted as one instead. You can double when your hand has a value of 9, 10 or 11. If you beat the Dealer with Blackjack you are paid out at odds of 3 to 2. In some Casinos the Dealer is dealt two cards but only one is turned so that it's value can be revealed. You can take Insurance if the Dealer's first card is an Ace.
However, if the Dealers face up card is an Ace or Ten value card, he will act on all hands. If the dealer's hand and the player's hand are both under 21 the hands are compared. If you split a pair of Aces and then draw a card with a denomination of 10, this is not Blackjack, although it has a value of 21. A second wager – equal to your original wager – is automatically placed on your second hand. If your first two cards have the same point value, you may split them into two separate hands by placing a second bet equal to the original bet.
