Blackjack is a game where the player competes against the dealer.
The dealer must stand on a hard or soft 17 or higher and draw on a hard or soft 16 or lower.
Each of the player's hands is dealt two cards. If you beat the Dealer with Blackjack you are paid out at odds of 3 to 2. In some Casinos the Dealer is dealt two cards but only one is turned so that it's value can be revealed. The Dealer will announce Blackjack, pay you one and one-half times the bet, then remove those cards before acting on any other hands.
The Dealer's hand is dealt in strict accordance with the terms of the Casino. The player may double after splitting. If your initial two cards do not total 21 then you may request additional cards, called a Hit. If your hand does not go Bust (exceeds 21) and still does not equal 21 you may continue to request additional cards until your hand goes Bust, reaches 21 or you decide to Stand. If you do not have Blackjack on your first two cards, you may decide to stand (draw no more cards), or hit (draw more cards) until you decide to stand. If your card count goes over 21, you lose.
