Upon wagering, you and the dealer (the
computer) are dealt two cards to start. During a game of Blackjack cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe. Your hand automatically stands.
Each of the player's hands is dealt two cards. It cannot be beaten, only matched. In some Casinos the Dealer is dealt two cards but only one is turned so that it's value can be revealed. The Dealer will announce Blackjack, pay you one and one-half times the bet, then remove those cards before acting on any other hands.
The Dealer's hand is dealt in strict accordance with the terms of the Casino. All face cards - Kings, Queens and Jacks, have a value of ten and the Aces can have a value of 1 or 11. A second wager – equal to your original wager – is automatically placed on your second hand. The Stand button, sometimes called the Stay button, ends your hand and moves the game onto the next phase be it the completion of the dealer's hand or of your second hand in the case of a Split. You can split two cards with the same denomination, such as two Queens or two Fours, by clicking the Split button.
