It is played with between one and six standard decks of cards. If the Dealer's hand exceeds 21, it is bust, and you automatically win. Traditionally a shoe may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck to 6 such decks. Face cards (the Jack, Queen and King) and 10s all have a value of ten. BUST Hands: All hands that exceed 21 lose, even if the dealer also goes BUST. For example, a
hand containing a Jack, 3, and 4 has a value of 17. Each hand played is a separate wager against the dealer. The Dealer stands on all hands with the value of 17 or more and draws on all hands with the value of 16 or less.
You can split two cards that have the same denomination, such as two Queens or two Fours. If you split a pair of Aces and then draw a card with a denomination of 10, this is not Blackjack, although it has a value of 21. If your hand does not go Bust (exceeds 21) and still does not equal 21 you may continue to request additional cards until your hand goes Bust, reaches 21 or you decide to Stand. The Stand button, sometimes called the Stay button, ends your hand and moves the game onto the next phase be it the completion of the dealer's hand or of your second hand in the case of a Split. You can split two cards with the same denomination, such as two Queens or two Fours, by clicking the Split button.
