It is a game between you and the dealer. The cards are dealt clockwise from a dealing "shoe. " Each Player is dealt two cards, face up; the Dealer takes two cards, one face up (up card) and one face down (hole card) Aces can have a value of either 1 or 11. Your hand cannot be beaten, only matched. If you beat the Dealer with Blackjack you are paid out at odds of 3 to 2. Only one additional card allowed on each Ace when splitting a pair of Aces.
After each round, used cards are returned to the deck and the deck is shuffled.

If the player doubles and the dealer's first card is of value 11, and the dealer gets blackjack, the player loses both his bets.
