Upon wagering, you and the dealer (the
computer) are dealt two cards to start. Blackjack always beats any other hand with a value of 21. Cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe. The
value of a hand is the sum of the values of the individual cards. If the dealer goes BUST but the player's hand is under 21 the player wins. Your chips are stacked by denomination ($1, $5,
$25, $100, $500) at the bottom of the game window. Each of the player's hands is dealt two cards.
If both the Dealer and your hand have Blackjack, this is also considered a Push and you are paid out your original bet amount. All face cards - Kings, Queens and Jacks, have a value of ten and the Aces can have a value of 1 or 11.
If you are dealt a pair you may SPLIT your hand. This means that your pair is divided into two separate hands with two separate wagers. You can HIT as many times as you wish until your hand goes bust or you decide to STAND. For example, a King and a Ten have the same numerical value, but cannot be split because the cards are not the same denomination.
If you have SPLIT a pair of aces and then draw a card with a value of ten then this is not a BLACKJACK.
