If the hands are of equal value the deal is a push and your money is returned. Blackjack beats a score of 21.
However, if the Dealers face up card is an Ace or Ten value card, he will act on all hands. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on the second hand. The dealer will not check for Blackjack in any case.
