Blackjack always beats any other hand with a value of 21. All face cards - Jacks, Kings and Queens, have a value of 10. Picture cards (Jack, Queen, King) count as ten. The card that remains face down is called the 'hole card'. The Dealer stands on all hands with the value of 17 or more and draws on all hands with the value of 16 or less.
The bets can only be changed or added between games. All face cards - Kings, Queens and Jacks, have a value of ten and the Aces can have a value of 1 or 11.
