Upon wagering, you and the dealer (the
computer) are dealt two cards to start. Your hand automatically stands. The
value of a hand is the sum of the values of the individual cards. If the dealer goes BUST but the player's hand is under 21 the player wins. If you receive an Ace and a Ten value card as your first two cards, you have Blackjack. All hands that purchased INSURANCE win if the dealer has a BLACKJACK – you will break even; if the dealer doesn't have a BLACKJACK the INSURANCE bet loses.
The player may not split a split hand. The HIT button tells the dealer to deal you another card. The Stand button, sometimes called the Stay button, ends your hand and moves the game onto the next phase be it the completion of the dealer's hand or of your second hand in the case of a Split. You can split two cards with the same denomination, such as two Queens or two Fours, by clicking the Split button.
