Upon wagering, you and the dealer (the
computer) are dealt two cards to start. The cards are dealt clockwise from a dealing "shoe. BUST Hands: All hands that exceed 21 lose, even if the dealer also goes BUST. It cannot be beaten, only matched. If you have a total of 22 or higher (a busted hand), you lose regardless of whether the dealer also busts.
Insurance costs half your original bet. The card that remains face down is called the 'hole card'. If the player's hand is closer to 21 the player wins, if the dealer's hand is closer to 21 the player loses. If the Dealer makes 21 with 3 or more cards, the Players Blackjack wins. The Stand button, sometimes called the Stay button, ends your hand and moves the game onto the next phase be it the completion of the dealer's hand or of your second hand in the case of a Split.
The SPLIT button is only available if the first two cards dealt are a pair.
