Blackjack is a game where the player competes against the dealer.
This Blackjack is played exclusively with a single 52-card deck, as this offers you the best possible chances of winning. If you receive an ace and a ten-value card as your first two cards, you have Blackjack and win one and a half times your bet. Aces can have a value of either 1 or 11. The Doubling bet is equal to your original bet.
An Ace and eight will add up to 19 but if the player chooses to take another card that would cause the hand's value to exceed 21 the Ace will revert to a value of 1.
The Dealer is also dealt two cards but only one card is face up. The card that remains face down is called the 'hole card'. It does not cover any second hands on a split, or a double bet. If the player doubles and the dealer's first card is of value 11, and the dealer gets blackjack, the player loses both his bets. Other keyboard
