Aces can be valued at either one or eleven;
if counting the Ace as eleven would put the hand over twenty-one, the Ace is

If you are dealt a pair you may SPLIT your hand. This means that your pair is divided into two separate hands with two separate wagers. If the player doubles and the dealer's first card is of value 11, and the dealer gets blackjack, the player loses both his bets. The STAND button ends your hand and moves game play to the next available hand – your next hand or the completion of the dealer's hand.
